Daniel Møller Sneum is an expert in district heating, energy economics, and energy planning.
He serves as project manager at the Energy Modelling Lab in Copenhagen, leading the IEA DHC-funded project “Financial frameworks’ impact on district heating“ and co-develops Danida-funded courses. Daniel an external expert for the Centre for Net Zero High Density Buildings (CeNZ-HighDB) in Scotland, focusing on urban decarbonization.
With a PhD in energy planning and economics from the Technical University of Denmark, Daniel’s research explores regulatory frameworks, sector coupling, and flexibility in district heating and electricity systems. His work includes publications in Energy Policy, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, and contributions to international reports. Previously, he held roles at the Danish District Heating Association, PlanEnergi, and the International Energy Agency, and hosts the Energy Policycast podcast.
Daniel is a Certified Expert in Climate & Renewable Energy Finance (Frankfurt School) and holds an MSc in Sustainable Energy Planning.
