Ea Energy Analyses is a Danish energy analysis and consultancy firm with strong expertise in energy systems and district heating in Denmark and abroad. We work with district heating companies, other utilities, and government authorities, providing robust analyses and sound decision-making frameworks.
Â
Ea Energy Analyses specialises in long-term, system-level analyses of the interaction between electricity and heat systems. We use and develop the energy system model Balmorel (Balmorel: Power system model Archives – Ea Energianalyse) to analyse how district heating systems may develop under different assumptions regarding electricity prices, fuel prices, technology choices, and policy targets.
These analyses provide a clear view of both technical and economic implications and serve as a basis for strategic planning and investment decisions. We conduct analyses of district heating systems at national and regional levels as well as for individual district heating companies.
In addition, Ea Energy Analyses has experience supporting district heating companies in developing and using software for daily dispatch operations, including coordinating multiple heat producers and aligning with electricity grid operations and market conditions.
Ea Energy Analyses provides concrete analytical support to district heating stakeholders, including:
- preparation of long-term heat and energy plans at national, regional, and local levels
- analyses of how district heating interacts with electricity markets and the wider energy system
- techno-economic assessment of specific technologies such as large-scale heat pumps, electric boilers, excess heat utilisation, and thermal storage
- analyses of electricity prices, market conditions, and regulatory frameworks, and their implications for district heating planning and investments
Ea Energy Analyses has an established collaboration with the Swedish consultancy Nxity (NXITY – We Deliver Beyond Your Expectations). This collaboration combines Ea Energy Analyses’ expertise in energy and district heating systems at the system and planning level with Nxity’s strong capabilities in detailed technical modelling of district heating networks and production units.
Together, we deliver analyses that link long-term energy system perspectives with technically detailed, operationally realistic representations of district heating systems, supporting robust decision-making from strategic planning to concrete investment decisions.
