ARC, Amager Ressource Center manages the waste resources to provide the residents and the city with recycled materials, electricity, and district heating. ARC is well placed at a central location where it strives to be a valued neighbor who listens to and involves its neighbors and nearby communities.

Copenhill, a multi-functional, cultural waste-to-energy plant

With the construction of CopenHill (Amager Bakke), a multi-functional, social, and cultural waste-to-energy plant emphasizing sustainability has been created. The residents of the capital area will access first-class architecture and a new modern recreational opportunity, aside from more green energy, and Copenhagen will have a new green landmark.

Carbon capture – how it’s done at ARC

The ARC recycling stations are under constant development and make sorting and recycling materials easy, which benefits the environment and climate. The recycling stations receive more than 1,000,000 visits a year. ARC receives and processes waste from approximately 550,000 residents and 45,000 businesses, delivering electricity and district heating to about 150,000 households.

Pioneering, industrial architecture

The population of Copenhagen is increasing. This requires innovative thinking and alternative solutions. CopenHill represents – with its pioneering, multi-functional industrial architecture – an ambitious proposal for how a green energy facility can be combined with recreational areas that encourage adventure, fun, and play.

Recreational facilities create a vibrant urban area

The success criterion for ARC is that the new city park is a vibrant urban area where clubs and residents meet, and several recreational facilities help promote an active lifestyle. CopenHill represents a modern take on sustainable urban development.
ARC is constantly working to improve the services and energy production for the benefit of the customers so that it matches future waste and resource treatment requirements. Based on high levels of service and knowledge-based solutions, ARC will manage the waste in the future.
