DBDH Members’ Meeting at Aalborg Forsyning

The DBDH Members’ Meeting took place at Aalborg Forsyning on 4 December. Outside, the weather was misty, but inside the warm conference room, the atmosphere was anything but – participants actively engaged in discussions and networking with familiar faces and new acquaintances.

As always at DBDH’s biannual meetings across Denmark, the tone was open, constructive, and energetic.

Participants were welcomed by Lars Skytte Jørgensen and given a tour of the facility before diving into the day’s programme. We extend our thanks to Lars and the team at Aalborg Forsyning for their generous hospitality, excellent knowledge sharing, and the insightful site tour.

Biomass and emerging alternatives

The first session focused on biomass and its alternatives. Presentations by Niclas Scott Bentsen (University of Copenhagen), Søren Schmidt Thomsen (Triangle Energy Alliance), Hans-Henrik Lindboe (EA Energy Analysis), and Lars Hummelmose (DBDH) provided a clear and candid foundation for discussing the sector’s transition pathways. The session was moderated by DBDH’s Chair, Elsebeth Arendt.

District Heating Development in Europe

After the break, the focus shifted to district heating development in Europe. Anders Fiilsøe Falkeborg (Kamstrup), Christian Schrøder (Logstor), and Hanne Kortegaard Støchkel (DBDH), guided by moderator Morten Jordt Duedahl, offered perspectives on emerging market trends, technology developments, and the evolving policy landscape.

Spotlight on new members

The day concluded with the District Heating Forum, where new members – Priess, METRO THERM, TEGnology, and Verdo – presented their solutions and engaged in dialogue with the wider network.

Across all sessions, the meeting delivered sharp debates, strong expertise, and an engaged audience – highlighting the momentum and collaborative spirit within the DBDH community.

We warmly thank all presenters for sharing their insights and all participants for their constructive contributions throughout the day.

Looking ahead to 2026
