Last week, DBDH facilitated a project workshop in Radzionków, Poland – an important milestone in the EIFO Green Accelerator project and the development of a Strategic Development Plan for PEC Bytom’s district heating system.
The workshop brought together the utility, municipal representatives, Danish technology providers, and project partners to consolidate results from preparatory work, consultations, and technical analyses. Based on this foundation, several development scenarios were presented, reflecting different pathways for decarbonisation, security of supply, and long-term system optimisation.
A key element was an interactive working session where participants jointly assessed the scenarios and identified concrete short-term implementation steps for 2026–2029. This structured dialogue helped clarify priorities, potential barriers, and enabling conditions – supporting a plan that is both technically robust and practically applicable.
The project is financed by EIFO and co-financed by the Danish companies Fenagy, Aalborg CSP, and EMD International. Their close cooperation with the engineering consultant and local stakeholders has helped shape solutions grounded in both system-level analysis and practical implementation experience.
The project now moves from planning towards implementation, with a clear focus on translating strategic recommendations into actionable next steps for PEC Bytom’s district heating transition.
