The UKR-DK DH Hub is a cooperation platform designed to support Danish companies engaging with Ukraine’s energy sector by providing access to knowledge, dialogue, and practical insight. Through the Hub, companies gain a deeper understanding of the market context, stakeholder landscape, and emerging needs across the sector, while connecting with a broad network of Ukrainian partners, including 400 district heating utilities, municipalities, and key actors.
Commencing on 1 April 2026, the UKR-DK DH Hub offers Danish companies the opportunity to sign up for one‑year participation within a common framework that helps prepare participants for future reconstruction efforts.
Laying the groundwork for Ukraine’s energy reconstruction
The war has caused extensive damage to Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, creating a substantial need for future reconstruction across cities and municipalities. As attention gradually shifts toward recovery, there is a growing need for early planning, coordination, and technical preparedness. In this context, Danish companies now have a chance to step in and apply their experience in district heating, energy planning, and efficient energy systems. By engaging early and in a coordinated manner, Danish companies can contribute constructively to shaping sustainable and resilient solutions as reconstruction efforts move forward.
Focus areas: From preparation to readiness
The UKR-DK DH Hub is structured around three interconnected focus areas that together support a comprehensive engagement process for Danish companies.
- Market access
Activities are designed to facilitate early and structured dialogue with key Ukrainian stakeholders, including district heating utilities, general contractors, and international financial institutions. This includes a series of targeted online meetings, Alliance Members Meetings for participating companies, and advisory support during the project period upon request. Market access activities also include participation in the UA Energy Conference in Kyiv. Together, these activities support informed decision-making and help reduce market entry risks. - Capacity building
Knowledge-sharing activities strengthen understanding of Ukraine’s energy sector, regulatory environment, and technical challenges. Through thematic webinars and structured exchanges, participating companies gain a shared foundation covering topics such as long-term planning, renewable integration, system optimization, and digitalization, supporting informed and realistic engagement. - Promotion
Collective visibility activities present participating Danish companies and their competencies through coordinated communication channels. This includes newsletters and a dedicated Hub webpage showcasing participating companies and their involvement, supporting a coherent Danish presence and recognition among Ukrainian and international partners.
