Pernille M. Overbye

Pernille Mette Overbye has more than 30 years of experience in the energy and district heating sector. Her core competencies include project and personnel management, energy process design, energy planning, and district heating and cooling infrastructure. Her experience as a project manager comes from a variety of different projects – everything from feasibility studies, detailed design projects, and O&M tasks.

Throughout her career, Pernille has focused on the development of district energy outside Denmark and has lived and worked abroad for several years.

First, ten years in the UK, where Pernille was, among other things, a member of the board and later chairman of the Network Heat Forum at The Association for Decentralised Energy (ADE). As a part of her role on the board, she guided a working group that dealt with standards and regulations.

Later, Pernille lived for two years in Canada, where she was the managing director of Ramboll Inc., the Canadian branch that at the time covered Ramboll’s district energy services in North America.

Today, Pernille is the head of Ramboll’s energy planning and thermal infrastructure department in Copenhagen. The team consists of 34 people working on projects both in Denmark and internationally.
In the spring of 2025, Pernille was elected to the board of DBDH, which supports her ambitions to promote the sale of Danish district heating expertise abroad.
