On February 1, 2024, Thomas Hopp will assume the position of the new managing director at Høje Taastrup District Heating. Thomas comes from a role as the distribution manager at VEKS, and before that, he worked for many years as a manager and director at the utility company Fors A/S.
“The board has wanted to find someone to continue the work in our district heating company, developing new solutions and expanding district heating. This is important, as we want the company to continue playing a significant role in the transition to green heat supply. In the board, we agree that Thomas can further develop the company for the benefit of the green transition and all our customers,” says Board Chairman Nils Olsen.
Thomas Hopp is 56 years old and a trained lawyer. He has previously worked in organizations such as the Danish Energy Agency, Copenhagen Energy (HOFOR), Holbæk Utility, Fors, and most recently at VEKS, contributing to the expansion of district heating in Køge and Tranegilde. Thomas Hopp succeeds Astrid Birnbaum, who has decided to retire after more than seven years as director at Høje Taastrup District Heating.
