SUMMARY:Bangkok | South-East Asia District Cooling Conference 2024
DESCRIPTION:Asia Urban Energy Assembly – Towards a NetZero Future in the Asia Pacific\n\n\n\nDBDH partner\, the Asian Pacific Urban Energy Association (APUEA)\, organizes a district cooling conference with a focus on South-East at the annual ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week\, which is a well-established event and one of ASEAN’s most prominent international exhibition and conference on Renewable Energy\, Energy Efficiency\, Energy Storage\, Environmental and Electric Vehicle Technology. \n\n\n\nThe district cooling conference offers a great platform to meet\, network\, exhibit\, and obtain knowledge of the energy markets in ASEAN. \n\n\n\nThe 3rd edition of the Asia Urban Energy Assembly is scheduled as a two-day international conference from July 4th to 5th at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok\, Thailand. \n\n\n\nIn 2023\, ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week attracted over 28\,000 visitors from 61 countries\, including 6\,600 conference delegates\, establishing itself as a premier platform in the region for updates on market developments\, technologies\, financing\, and project opportunities. \n\n\n\nWith most countries in the Asia-Pacific region aiming for net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) targets by 2050\, this year’s Asia Urban Energy Assembly is themed “Towards a Net Zero Future in the Asia-Pacific.” It aims to present\, discuss\, and explore energy solutions conducive to the energy transition\, aiding countries in meeting their climate objectives. \n\n\n\nRenewable Energy resources in the APAC region are abundant\, with Southeast Asia alone boasting 17.2 TW of available Renewable Energy resources. For instance\, harnessing just 1% of Thailand’s Solar PV resources could meet the country’s total power production capacity of 49 GW. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAddressing the world’s escalating cooling demand is crucial to achieving climate targets. Currently\, space cooling accounts for 10% of global GHG emissions\, and without intervention\, the demand is projected to triple by 2050 due to rising temperatures\, population growth\, and economic expansion. The bulk of this demand emanates from Asia\, where cooling is often referred to as the “elephant in the waiting room” due to its pivotal role in the energy transition. It’s imperative to act swiftly to tackle this challenge. \n\n\n\nThe 3rd edition of the Asia Urban Energy Assembly will explore how both public and private sectors can prepare for the future by leveraging current technologies and solutions to enhance energy efficiency and integrate more renewable energy into society. \n\n\n\nAdditionally\, the event will delve into the role of District Energy systems as a crucial tool in addressing the burgeoning cooling demand in the Asia Pacific region. Anticipated attendees include energy professionals from the public and private sectors\, encompassing utilities\, government officials\, policymakers\, developers\, consultants\, investors\, international organizations\, universities\, and more. \n\n\n\nThe event is hosted by APUEA and Informa Markets. \n\n\n\nDownload the event brochure here \n\n\n\nDo you want to join?\n\n\n\nInterested in joining please contact Lars at lh@dbdh.dk The participation fee will be informed upon request. \n\n\n\n#districtcooling #apuea #southeastasia

SUMMARY:Euroheat & Power Congress 2024 | Rotterdam\, the Netherlands
DESCRIPTION:District heating and cooling networks are one of Europe’s top choices to phase-out fossil fuels in buildings\, putting the EU well on track to achieve its climate and energy independence goals. In recent years\, unprecedented momentum has built up to support the deployment of this essential energy infrastructure in Europe. \n\n\n\nProviding 20% of the EU heat demand with district heating and cooling would save 24 billion cubic meters of gas by 2030\, representing 32% of the EU’s Russian gas imports in 2022. To achieve this\, major investments are needed to build new district heating and cooling systems\, gradually introduce clean\, renewable heat sources and modernise Europe’s impressive district heating and cooling network infrastructure. \n\n\n\nIt’s no small challenge\, but it is above all a huge opportunity for the district heating and cooling industry to expand its markets\, to innovate\, and to drive the decarbonisation of Europe’s largest energy consuming sector. Time to meet\, do business and scale up the heat transition! \n\n\n\nThe 42nd edition of the Euroheat & Power Congress aims to provide our business and local communities with all the tools needed to make this happen. \n\n\n\nAbout the Congress:\n\n\n\n\nThe Euroheat & Power Congress is Euroheat & Power flagship business event. SUMMARY:San Francisco | CampusEnergy 2024 | Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:The CampusEnergy2024 will take place for the 37th time in San Fransisco\, February 20-22\, 2024. Many American campuses are converting from steam to hot water systems\, so there is a tremendous demand for Danish expertise and components.\n\n\n\nCampusEnergy2024 is organized by IDEA and is the top district heating sector event of the year in North America. The event gathers more than 1\,000 district energy professionals for three days of educational content with pre-conference workshops\, a five-track technical program and multiple tours of operating district energy systems. \n\n\n\nDBDH has in cooperation with the Danish District Advisory (DDEA) secured a strong Danish presence at the conference. By signing up for the event through DBDH\, you will get the following: \n\n\n\n\nParticipation in a joint Danish “tabletop/roll-up exhibition”\n\n\n\nParticipation in the 2 x 25 min. Danish presentations at the CampusEnergy2023 conference\n\n\n\nDanish networking dinner where you can invite special guests\n\n\n\nParticipation in the full conference program\n\n\n\nParticipation in the Welcome Evening Event\n\n\n\nLunch and dinners\n\n\n\nAll planning provided by DDEA and DBDH\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe event is co-financed by Danish Trade Council by 50%. \n\n\n\nMarket data\n\n\n\n\nAs of January 2020\, the U.S. Department of Energy’s Combined Heat and Power Installation Database counted 4\,571 CHP\n\n\n\nIn the US\, IDEA reported there are 386 college/ university district energy systems (54% of all US DE systems reported by IDEA)\, and in Canada there are 21 college/ university district energy systems (21% of all Canadian DE systems reported by IDEA)\n\n\n\nAccording to IDEA\, in 2012\, a total of ~5.45 billion sqft of district heating installed capacity in the U.S. existed and ~1.87 billion sqft of district cooling. IDEA also projected a yearly increase in hot water heating in the U.S. of 0.4% (2013-2020) then +6.5%/yr (2021-2030)\, +5.5%/yr (2031-2040)\, and +4%/yr (2041-2050). Then on district cooling\, +1.2% (2021–2030)\, +1.7% (2031–2040) and +2.2% (2041-2050)\n\n\n\nSeveral US colleges have set aggressive and ambitious climate goals which include increasing their renewable energy fraction. For example\, Penn\, Yale and Brown all are aiming to achieve carbon neutral before 2050\, and Dartmouth\, Columbia and Massachusetts are targeting a 80% reduction in GHGs before 2050. With these carbon targets fast approaching\, North American companies are actively planning\, designing\, partnering\, constructing\, and commissioning a wide range of innovative energy and environmental technologies for institutions across USA and Canada.\n\n\n\n\nDo you want to join?\n\n\n\nPlease\, send Lars Hummelmose a mail at (lh@dbdh.dk)
