DESCRIPTION:Join the Danish district heating delegation to Ireland in December 2026 and connect with Irish cities\, utilities\, energy companies\, and sector stakeholders. The visit will showcase Danish solutions and expertise as Ireland’s district heating market moves from early development to concrete planning and implementation.\n\n\n\nPlease reserve both date options: 7–8 December and 8–9 December 2026. We will confirm the final dates soon. \n\n\n\nWhy participate?\n\n\n\n\nPresent Danish district heating solutions\, technologies\, and system expertise to Irish decision-makers and project developers\n\n\n\nIncrease awareness and preference for Danish approaches in an emerging district heating market\n\n\n\nBuild direct relationships with Irish cities\, utilities\, energy companies\, and sector organisation\n\n\n\nGain insight into Irish heating plans\, project pipelines\, and concrete challenges facing local stakeholders\n\n\n\nSupport Ireland’s green transition with proven Danish experience in integrated and efficient district heating systems\n\n\n\n\nA growing district heating market\n\n\n\nDistrict heating currently accounts for less than 1% of residential heating in Ireland\, but the market is developing rapidly. The Irish Government aims for district heating to supply 10% by 2030—approximately 2.7 TWh—representing a significant sector expansion. \n\n\n\nNew heat legislation\, ownership recommendations\, financial support mechanisms\, and a national competence centre are in preparation. Meanwhile\, municipalities are developing heat plans and feasibility studies\, and projects in Dublin\, Tallaght\, and Poolbeg—as well as initiatives led by energy companies—are strengthening the basis for future investment. \n\n\n\nFor Danish companies\, this creates a clear growth opportunity. Irish stakeholders are actively seeking knowledge\, experience\, and proven solutions\, and Denmark is already an important source of inspiration for planning\, establishing\, and optimizing district heating systems. \n\n\n\nProgram\n\n\n\nThe program is being developed with IrDEA\, the Irish district heating association\, and the Trade Council in London. It will combine a seminar or conference for Irish sector stakeholders with technical workshops involving selected cities\, utilities\, and energy companies. \n\n\n\nThe expected program elements include: \n\n\n\n\nHalf-day seminar or conference introducing Danish district heating experience\, Irish plans\, and market opportunities\n\n\n\nPresentations by Danish companies and system experts\n\n\n\nTechnical workshops with Irish cities\, district heating projects\, and energy companies\n\n\n\nOpportunities for direct dialogue on heat sources\, networks\, planning\, ownership\, financing\, and implementation\n\n\n\nNetworking with both Danish and Irish stakeholders\n\n\n\n\nParticipation fee\n\n\n\nThe participation fee is DKK 16\,000 excl. VAT per company. It covers visit organisation\, program development\, and local activities. The fee is based on co-financing from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Trade Council and requires participants to complete a de minimis declaration.
