It offers a direct opportunity to meet Austrian utilities\, sector leaders\, and decision-makers from major Austrian Stadtwerke in Salzburg\, Linz\, Vienna\, and Graz. \n\n\n\nPurpose of the delegation visit\n\n\n\nThe export promotion aims to: \n\n\n\n\nPresent Danish district heating solutions and system expertise to Austrian utilities\n\n\n\nIncrease awareness of Danish technologies and approaches\n\n\n\nStrengthen networks between Danish companies and Austrian decision-makers\n\n\n\nSupport Austria’s green transition with Danish district heating experience\n\n\n\nCreate direct dialogue on practical solutions for replacing fossil fuels and expanding district heating\n\n\n\n\nDistrict heating in Austria\n\n\n\nAustria is a medium-sized district heating market\, with district heating accounting for approximately 15% of residential space heating. \n\n\n\nAt the same time\, more than 50% of household heating is still based on gas and oil. Austria has recently decided that gas boilers may no longer be installed in new homes\, and there is a strong political focus on converting existing gas-heated households to alternative solutions. \n\n\n\nThe district heating sector is also working to phase out fossil fuels in heat supply\, where fossil sources still account for close to 50%.
