SUMMARY:Bangkok | South-East Asia District Cooling Conference 2024
DESCRIPTION:Asia Urban Energy Assembly – Towards a NetZero Future in the Asia Pacific\n\n\n\nDBDH partner\, the Asian Pacific Urban Energy Association (APUEA)\, organizes a district cooling conference with a focus on South-East at the annual ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week\, which is a well-established event and one of ASEAN’s most prominent international exhibition and conference on Renewable Energy\, Energy Efficiency\, Energy Storage\, Environmental and Electric Vehicle Technology. \n\n\n\nThe district cooling conference offers a great platform to meet\, network\, exhibit\, and obtain knowledge of the energy markets in ASEAN. \n\n\n\nThe 3rd edition of the Asia Urban Energy Assembly is scheduled as a two-day international conference from July 4th to 5th at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok\, Thailand. \n\n\n\nIn 2023\, ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week attracted over 28\,000 visitors from 61 countries\, including 6\,600 conference delegates\, establishing itself as a premier platform in the region for updates on market developments\, technologies\, financing\, and project opportunities. \n\n\n\nWith most countries in the Asia-Pacific region aiming for net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) targets by 2050\, this year’s Asia Urban Energy Assembly is themed “Towards a Net Zero Future in the Asia-Pacific.” It aims to present\, discuss\, and explore energy solutions conducive to the energy transition\, aiding countries in meeting their climate objectives. \n\n\n\nRenewable Energy resources in the APAC region are abundant\, with Southeast Asia alone boasting 17.2 TW of available Renewable Energy resources. For instance\, harnessing just 1% of Thailand’s Solar PV resources could meet the country’s total power production capacity of 49 GW. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAddressing the world’s escalating cooling demand is crucial to achieving climate targets. Currently\, space cooling accounts for 10% of global GHG emissions\, and without intervention\, the demand is projected to triple by 2050 due to rising temperatures\, population growth\, and economic expansion. The bulk of this demand emanates from Asia\, where cooling is often referred to as the “elephant in the waiting room” due to its pivotal role in the energy transition. It’s imperative to act swiftly to tackle this challenge. \n\n\n\nThe 3rd edition of the Asia Urban Energy Assembly will explore how both public and private sectors can prepare for the future by leveraging current technologies and solutions to enhance energy efficiency and integrate more renewable energy into society. \n\n\n\nAdditionally\, the event will delve into the role of District Energy systems as a crucial tool in addressing the burgeoning cooling demand in the Asia Pacific region. Anticipated attendees include energy professionals from the public and private sectors\, encompassing utilities\, government officials\, policymakers\, developers\, consultants\, investors\, international organizations\, universities\, and more. \n\n\n\nThe event is hosted by APUEA and Informa Markets. \n\n\n\nDownload the event brochure here \n\n\n\nDo you want to join?\n\n\n\nInterested in joining please contact Lars at lh@dbdh.dk The participation fee will be informed upon request. \n\n\n\n#districtcooling #apuea #southeastasia

DESCRIPTION:DBDH will again this year try to gather a group of DK based companies to join the 2nd Asia Urban Energy Assembly – the 31 August – 1 September in Bangkok\, Thailand. \n\n\n\n\n \nSee the full program here (draft) \n\n\nThe 2nd edition of the Asia Urban Energy Assembly will be held as a 2-day international conference the 31 August and 1 September at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok\, Thailand. \nThe event is co-located with ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week\, one of ASEAN’s largest and most comprehensive International Exhibition and Conferences on Renewable Energy\, Energy Efficiency\, and Environmental Technology. \nIn 2022\, ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week had more than 20.000 visitors from 52 countries\, which makes it one of the best meeting platforms in the region to get updates on market developments\, technologies\, financing and project opportunities\, and much more. \n\n\nMost major economies in the Asia-Pacific region have set net-zero GHG emission targets by mid-century\, and national governments are working to update energy and climate policies to achieve this. This year’s edition of the Asia Urban Energy Assembly is themed “Supporting the Energy Transition in the Asia-Pacific” and aims to present\, discuss and explore solutions that can help to speed up the energy transition and help countries reach their climate targets. \nLuckily\, the world’s Renewable Energy resources are vast\, and Southeast Asia alone has 17.2 TW of Renewable Energy resources available. For example\, using only 1% of available Solar PV resources in Thailand would cover the country’s total power production capacity of 49 GW.  \n\n\nAnother important topic is the worlds growing cooling demand. Today\, space cooling stands for 10% of the world’s GHG emissions\, and with increased temperatures due to global warming and population and economic growth in the hottest part of the world\, the cooling demand is expected to triple by 2050\, leading to equivalent increased energy demand if no action is taken. \nThe majority of the growing cooling demand comes from Asia\, which is why cooling is sometimes called the elephant in the waiting room\, referring to its importance in the energy transition and meeting climate targets. \n\n\nThe 2nd edition of the Asia Urban Energy Assembly will focus on how the public and private sectors can contribute to the Energy Transition by applying technology and solutions that exist today to increase energy efficiency and integrate more renewable energy into our society. \nThe event will include the latest outlook status of the Energy Transition\, explore how more Renewable energy can be integrated into our cities\, and how District Energy systems can be one tool in the toolbox to reach climate targets in the Asia Pacific region. The expected audience includes energy professionals from the public and private sectors\, including utilities\, government officials\, policymakers\, utilities\, developers\, consultants\, investors\, international organizations\, universities\, and more.

SUMMARY:9th biannual conference - Serbian-Danish District Heating Days in Vrnjačka Banja
DESCRIPTION:Will you join us at the 9th biannual district heating event in Serbia – addressing the green agenda through district heating?\n  \nOver the years\, DBDH has built a valuable relationship with the Serbian district heating association: SERBSKA TOPLA (TOPS)\, which opens access to the political level and important decision-makers in the Serbian sector for district heating. We are pleased to invite you to join the 9th bi-annual event arranged in cooperation with TOPS! \nWhy participate?\nDistrict heating in Serbia remains heavily carbon dependent. Gas powers 80-90% of district heating’s total energy consumption. Most of the remaining energy is also obtained from carbon-based sources with limited cogeneration and renewables. However\, with the latest developments in European energy markets and price uncertainties – as long-term gas supply agreements expire – Serbia’s push towards more energy and operational efficiency is heating up – both on the production and consumption side. \nSerbia – in its aspirations to advance its green agenda and commitments made to the EU – is a growing market with an increasing understanding of the importance of energy efficiency and air pollution. \nSerbia is a partner country implementing several European and international initiatives to improve energy efficiency. Local funds for energy efficiency are set up\, and the first projects have been rolled out to improve the public sector’s energy efficiency. This represents opportunities for Danish companies involved in district heating. Implementing these measures and policies is\, to some extent\, done through district heating companies. \nTOPS now has over 70 members from all over Serbia\, and the twenty largest district heating companies combined have about €400M of annual turnover with 3600 employees combined. Many of them are in the process of expansion\, and some are more actively looking into cogeneration and renewables as solutions. On our ninth biannual gathering in 2023\, we will have an opportunity to talk with decision-makers and technical people of district heating companies and Serbian government officials on subjects concerning the improvement of the operation of district heating systems in Serbia. \nWho will you meet?\nThe two-day event in Serbia is a top-level meeting with decision-makers and technical staff of all relevant district heating companies in Serbia. Among the invited participants are government officials underlining the importance of topics and international financial institutions capable of financing promising projects and initiatives. \nThe district heating sector in Serbia wishes to benefit from cooperation with Danish companies concerning Danish know-how and technologies. The bi-annual event brings together the Serbian and Danish district heating sectors and creates new possibilities for all. \nParticipation includes\n• Meeting more than 70 participants representing managers of Serbian Heating plants and leaders and decision-makers in Serbian municipalities.• Meeting members of the Serbian Ministry of Energy (will be invited).• Getting complete access to the district heating and utility sector and the regions that are members of TOPS.• Presenting your technology and solutions during the seminar• Participation in a workshop between Danish companies and the Serbian district heating sector• unique possibilities for networking during both professional and social parts of the District Heating Days.• Networking social event with visit to Žiča monastery and Gala Dinner arranged by TOPS.• List with contact details of all participants of the event• Transfer from Belgrade to Vrnjačka Banja and return \nProgram\n18 April\, 2023Individual traveling – transfer from Belgrade14.00 Check-in at Hotel Zepter Vrnjačka Banja\, https://zepterhotelvbanja.com17.00-19.00 Regular Session of the Assembly of the District Heating Business Association “TOPLANE SRBIJE” (DHBA Serbia)19.30 Dinner at the hotel \n19 April\, 202308.45-09.00 Coffee & registration \n09.00-09.15 Welcome by▪ Deputy Head of Mission and First Secretary Mr. Frederik Damgaard Jensen▪ Assistant ministers MoME Mr. Milan Macura▪ Mr. Dejan Stojanovic\, Director of TOPS▪ Ms Pia Zimmermann\, Export Manager\, DBDH \n09.15 Green transition of the district heating sector – including surplus heat from data centersMr. Lars Gullev\, Western Copenhagen Transmission Company \n09.35 Integration of the heat pump technologies in the district heating sector in Serbia – opportunities and challengesIvana Radulovic\, Niras \n09.55 Heating solutionsMr. Branko Crnčević\, Kamstrup \n10.15 Next generation valve technology!Andrzej Gonczar\, Broen \n10.35 Coffee break \n10.55 Hydronic Machine – system inovations and solutions making DH systems efficient\, with low-cost investment and maintenance“ .Amer Karabegović\, Senior Business devellopment Manager\, Danfoss Trata. \n11.15 Boosting the Green Transition by Integrating Green TechnologiesAndreas Zourellis\, Vice President of Technical Sales\, International MarketsAalborg CSP \n11.35 Twin pipe system impact in Total Cost of OwnershipMr. Andrei Bita\, Logstor \n11.55 Cost optimization by achieving correct water parametersby Ernst Kristensen\, Hydro X \n13.00-15.00 Workshops between DH sector in Serbia and Danish companies \n15.00-15.45 Lunch \n16.00 Site tours for Serbian and Danish participants: Monastery Žiča\, Grabak Winery – tour of tastings of 6 wines and cheeses \n21.00 Gala Dinner \n20 April\, 2023Departure \nContact:\nPia Zimmermann\, Export Manager+45 29 26 03 80 pz@dbdh.dk \nPrice\nWe have excellent support from the Danish Trade Council\, so we can offer a really attractive price for participating in this program. The price is DKK 16\,000 ex.
