May 5, 2026 – May 6, 2026
20 decision-makers from cities and utilities in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria will participate in a two-day study tour to Denmark.
The purpose of the visit is to gain inspiration on how planning is translated into practice in Denmark, with a focus on:
- Utilization of surplus heat
- Conversion of gas customers to district heating
- How Danish district heating plants are becoming independent of natural gas
The group will visit Danish cities and their district heating facilities, and learn about the Danish model for strategic energy planning and the rapid implementation of concrete projects—from idea to the first customer receiving district heating.
Overall, the tour provides insight into how the heating sector can become CO₂-neutral.
Danish consultants and technology companies are invited to participate throughout the program, including co-hosting site visits, presenting at workshops, and joining a networking dinner.
