Denmark | Austrian Delegation Visit to DK | Study Tour

September 17 September 18

The Austrian DeRiskDH consortium – a research project, comes to Denmark for a 2-3 day study tour.

We are pleased to invite you to join an exclusive event with a delegation of Austrian district heating experts visiting Denmark on 17–18 September 2025. This is a unique opportunity to connect with 15–20 representatives from leading Austrian utilities, research institutions, and technology providers – all part of the major R&D initiative DeRiskDH, which focuses on reducing risks in the decarbonization of urban heating networks.

Participants include (among others):

Wien Energie, AEE INTEC, Linz AG, Salzburg AG, TU Graz, TU Wien, Energie Graz, myWarm GmbH and our co-organizing partner Austria Institute of Technology.

Austria aims to achieve climate neutrality by 2040, yet nearly half of its district heating still relies on fossil fuels. DeRiskDH seeks innovative solutions to transition toward renewables, improve grid operations, and reduce energy costs and uncertainty.

The Danish Study Tour will focus on:

  • Decarbonization & digitalization of DH systems
  • Power-to-heat technologies & surplus heat
  • Temperature optimization & grid efficiency
  • Integration of renewables (solar, geothermal, biomass, heat pumps)
  • Heat intelligence and long-term energy storage

Why participate?

  • Showcase your technologies at Danish DH utilities
  • Present during a site visit or workshop session
  • Network directly with Austrian stakeholders planning investments
  • Gain insight into the Austrian market and R&D priorities
  • Join site visits and workshops (up to 2 participants)
  • Bus transportation and full coordination by DBDH included
