The long-awaited ReUseHeat Handbook for increased recovery of urban excess heat is ready!

It summarized the lessons learned from five years of working on recovering waste heat from urban infrastructure (data center, service sector building, and metro). Urban waste heat recovery has considerable potential (10% of the EU heating demand for buildings), but its use is limited. One reason is that the awareness of urban heat recovery is limited, which the project targeted explicitly in its awareness-creating demonstrator.

Apart from technical demonstration, the project has also provided knowledge on how to build contracts and bankable investment cases and assess risk in the urban waste heat recovery context.
